Frequently Asked Questions about CASA Medical GPO

What are the basic features of your vaccine contracts with Sanofi Pasteur, Merck and Pfizer?

CASA physicians enjoy the highest level of discounts available from Sanofi Pasteur, Merck & Co., Inc. and Pfizer for their Trumenba vaccine. The ability to obtain these types of discounts is based solely on the performance of the members and their loyalty to the products of our vendor partners. Members limit their use of competing vaccines to circumstances of explicit medical necessity or product unavailability. Vendor partners independently provide additional discounts via prompt pay, using the internet for ordering, promotions, etc. It is important  to note, that  these discounts are in addition to CASA discount pricing.
We also have preferential purchasing rights and pricing for FLUZONE, including High Dose Fluzone for patients over 65 and the new intradermal short needle format. Additionally, the FLUZONE PARTNERS PROGRAM generates a 1% invoice discount on the rest of Sanofi Pasteur’s core pediatric vaccines.

The Sanofi Pasteur VaxMax Program independently offers members up to an additional 6% discount on vaccines for coordinated vaccine orders.

Practices successfully participating in both the Sanofi Pasteur and Merck programs are eligible for CASA Incentive Rewards.

Is there a membership fee?

Each vaccine vendor partner has a process for adding CASA members and wait times may vary. Typically, 2-5 business days is normal for Sanofi once we have received your signed Participation Agreement. Pfizer and Merck may require additional time. You will be notified as soon as you are eligible to order from our vaccine vendor partners and receive CASA discount pricing. You are automatically eligible for  the discount med/surg supply program when you become a CASA member with Sanofi Pasteur.

[TOP]

Are your vaccine contracts connected?

No. Sanofi Pasteur , Merck Inc. and Pfizer are separate corporate entities. We have contracts with all,  and believe the product lines are complementary. Our prices for each are the lowest the respective company offers. There is no penalty for participating only in one of the agreements, but you must successfully participate in both the Sanofi Pasteur and Merck  to be eligible for the Incentive Rewards Program.

Can you really tell if I am buying vaccines outside the Agreement?

Yes we can tell. Because the performance of the contract (vendor loyalty) applies to the performance of the entire membership combined, it is essential that those that could hurt our requirements as outlined in the respective Participation Agreements are removed from participation. Compliance is simple and removal is rare and never done without carefully reviewing all information with the clinic. A non-compliant clinic will always be given an opportunity to correct any problems.

[TOP]

How can a non-pediatric clinic meet the compliance requirements of CASA?

Because CASA is a multi-specialty buying alliance, there is great opportunity for savings by all non-pediatric clinics. Non-pediatric clinics will be monitored only on the products selectively used for their speciality. Your responsibility to the Alliance is to commit to the use of the vaccine products provided by our Vendor Partners.

[TOP]

I am currently in another buying group.  Can I also join CASA?

Yes and No. You can join CASA but you would normally have to terminate your participation with the other group. CASA would welcome your participation and will assist you with the change. CASA does not actively solicit members from other buying groups but encourages you to review all the information provided and contact us directly if you have any questions or decide to change. The fact that CASA does not bind you to a contract as do some other groups shows our confidence that we provide the best services and discounts.

[TOP]

I am a current member of CASA but I am not receiving discounts on my Merck Vaccines?

It is possible that you have not signed the Merck Participation Agreement. Please contact CASA immediately so we may verify our records and if you are not linked to Merck per our signed agreement, we will expedite your enrollment.
